The Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a national program for young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who are interested in participating in a variety of fun, challenging and rewarding activities while learning about the air activities of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Cadets are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their communities. They make valuable contributions to Canadian society on a daily basis in terms of environmental, citizenship and community activities.

Cadets also learn valuable life and work skills such as teamwork, leadership and citizenship.

Cadets are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces, nor are they expected to join the military.

609 Squadron offers a variety of opportunities. Play in our marching band, learn about CPR with our First Aid team, ace your next presentation with our effective speaking sessions, experience trusting your team members in our Drill team, maybe even discover how to shoot an air rifle on our Range team!

Who we are

A squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program.

With 100+ members, 609 Squadron offers a fun and unique experience for youth between the ages of 12 and 18. Everyone here is family. From the newest recruit to the oldest alumni, we're a tight knit group!

We parade on Wednesday evenings between September and June at R.A. McMath Secondary School, 4251 Garry St, Richmond, BC V7E 2T9, Canada from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
